Post Workout Nutrition

The body uses stored energy (glycogen) in muscles to power through workouts or competitions, but after that workout, race, or competition is over, replenishing lost nutrients is key.

After competition or a workout, focus on getting carbs and protein into your body. These macronutrients give the muscles the ability to replenish the glycogen they’ve just lost and helps your tired muscles recover and rebuild with the available protein and amino acids. 

Try to eat within an hour of completing an intense workout.
